DONOHUE RECORDS 39 IN WINS OVER MIT & EMMANUEL

Beverly, MA:  Senior Shane Donohue (Freehold Twp., NJ) recorded a team high 22 kills in a men's volleyball, 3-1 (32-34, 30-24, 30-14, 30-25) victory over MIT during day one of the Endicott Invitational held at Endicott College.  With the win, Ramapo improves to 11-1 overall on the year.  MIT falls to 5-9.

Donohue hit .366 with 22 kills on 41 attempts while the team combined hitting .341 with 64 kills on 132 attempts and 19 errors.  Fellow senior Tom Kohler (East Brunswick, NJ) posted 12 kills hitting .500 with one error on 22 attempts and rookie Matt Agnew (Fair Lawn, NJ) added three kills of his own hitting .333.  Senior TC Elsasser (Barnegat, NJ) and sophomore Jeff Elsasser (Barnegat, NJ) recorded 13 and ten kills respectively.  Senior Jairo Sierra (Fair Lawn, NJ) dished out 54 assists and led the team's defense with 13 digs, while Dan Sempkowski (East Brunswick, NJ) and Donohue recorded 11 and ten digs respectively.  T. Elsasser recorded seven total blocks and Kohler and Donohue each added four.

J. Elsasser led the Roadrunners to their second win of the invitational, this time, 3-1 (30-25, 27-30, 30-21, 30-19) over Emmanuel.  J. Elssaser recorded 19 kills while Donohue recorded another 17 kills on the day.  Kohler and T. Elsasser chipped in 11 kills each and Sierra led the way in assists once again dishing out 52.  The Roadrunners hit a combined .328 with 63 kills on 134 attempts.  Kurt Backlund (Old Bridge, NJ) led the team's defense with ten digs and T. Elsasser recorded eight total blocks in the win.

The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow when they face off with SUNYIT at 1:00 PM and host, Endicott College, at 3:00 PM.
