Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team defeated NJAC foe Rutgers-Camden University tonight at the Bradley Center, 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-17). Ramapo now stands at 21-7 overall, and finishes 6-2 in the conference while the Scarlet Raptors fall to 11-13 overall and 3-5 in the conference.
Ramapo secures the #3 seed in the 2009 NJAC Women's Volleyball Tournament. They will play on Tuesday, November 3rd against the #6 seed Rutgers-Camden at 7:00 PM. This will be the Scarlet Raptors first ever appearance in the NJAC Tournament.
Sophomore
Kayla Anders (Harrington Park, NJ) led both teams with 12 kills on 19 attempts while senior
Kaitlin Smith (Westwood, NJ) contributed seven kills and two blocks.
Sophomore's
Maura Burke (Wyckoff, NJ) and
Kimberly Runge (Closter, NJ) added five kills a piece while Burke added three blocks. Runge added four service aces and a team high nine digs.
Sophomore
Tiffany Fischer (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) dished out 20 assists in the match.
For the Scarlet Raptors, sophomore Katherine Crosby (Marlton, NJ) posted seven kills while rookie Kristin Koloski (Cinnaminson, NJ) added six of her own. Rookie Catherine Tadeja (Cherry Hill, NJ) dished out 18 assists while posting a team high five service aces.
Ramapo returns to action this weekend when they head to the Skidmore Tournament when they face off against SUNY New Paltz at 6:00 PM on Friday.
