Mahwah, NJ: Junior Sarah Byrne (Manlius, NY) led Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball team over the Roadrunners tonight at the Bradley Center, 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 26-24). Byrne finished with a match high 13 kills while adding two service aces, six digs and two blocks.
Fellow teammate rookie Maggie Kowalska (Edison, NJ) pounded out ten kills for the Ducks while adding five digs while junior Sara Budar (Honolulu, HI) dished out 35 assists in the match.
The Ducks tallied 46 kills on the night and recorded seven service aces.
Ramapo was led by sophomore
Kayla Anders (Harrington Park, NJ) who posted nine kills. Sophomore's
Kaitlin Smith (Westwood, NJ) and
Kimberly Runge (Closter, NJ) each added six kills. Smith added five total blocks, three solo while Runge posted a team high 13 digs.
Sophomore setter
Tiffany Fischer (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) dished out 22 assists while adding three service aces. Sophomore
Maura Burke (Wyckoff, NJ) added three blocks and three kills in the match.
Ramapo returns to action when they travel to the College of Staten Island on October 23rd at 7:00 PM. Stevens will travel to the University of Rochester for an Empire 8 match up at 4:00 PM.
