Mahwah, NJ: The Lady Roadrunner women's volleyball team remains undefeated in conference play after earning a 3-0 (25-6, 25-14, 25-12) shut out victory over the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers Newark tonight at the Bradley Center. With the win, Ramapo improves to 8-5 overall, 3-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference while the Raiders fall to 1-14 overall, 1-2 in the conference.
Rookie
Kayla Anders (Harrington Park, NJ) recorded a team high 14 kills on the night while fellow rookies
Kimberly Runge (Closter, NJ) and
Maura Burke (Wyckoff, NJ) contributed seven and four kills respectively. Anders hit .765 while the team collectively hit .537 with 33 kills on 54 attempts and only four errors.
Michelle Del Valle (Teaneck, NJ) dished out 16 assists and
Tiffany Fischer (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) added nine. Runge led the team's defense with six digs and Anders and
Meagan Taege (Manahawkin, NJ) added four apiece.
Rutgers Newark went 17-65 on the night with 20 hitting errors hitting -.046. Rookie Toni Moppert (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) led the team's offense with nine kills and sophomore Na-Keta Michael (Newark, NJ) added four in the team's 14th loss of the season. Christina Francisco (West Orange, NJ) assisted on 14 of the team's 17 kills and defensive specialist Val Dauti (West Orange, NJ) recorded five digs.
The Roadrunners host FDU-Florham, USMMA, and Baruch on Saturday, September 27th in a quad match-up starting at 10:00 AM while Rutgers Newark travels to Montclair State on Tuesday, September 30th at 7:00 PM.
