RAMAPO EARNS FOURTH STRAIGHT WIN DEFEATING PROFS, 3-0

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College Roadrunners and the Profs of Rowan University battled it out tonight in a New Jersey Athletic Conference women's volleyball match-up at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners improved to 7-5 overall, and 2-0 in the NJAC after defeating the Profs in three games, 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-22) for their fourth straight victory. Rowan falls to 5-9 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

Ramapo took game one by ten points after rookie Kayla Anders (Harrington Park, NJ), who is ranked #1 in the NCAA for hitting percentage, and #22 in kills per game, put down a team high five kills hitting .444. Fellow rookie Kimberly Runge (Closter, NJ) recorded three of her own while the team hit .188 with 13 total kills on 32 attempts with seven errors. Rowan went 4-34 with nine errors hitting -.147 in game one. Casey Roselle (Sparta, NJ) led Rowan's defense with five digs.

In the second of a best out-of-five match-up, Anders again led the way, this time with four kills. Rookie setters Tiffany Fischer (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) and Michelle Del Valle (Teaneck, NJ) combined for eight assists and Runge led the defense with five digs. The Roadrunners again forced the Profs into negative hitting (-.094) while hitting .222 as a team themselves. Roselle again led the Profs with six digs.

Anders and Runge combined for 13 of Ramapo's 16 kills in the final game while Rowan's Krista Hendrickson (Cherry Hill, NJ) sparked her team's offense with four kills. Theresa Pecoraro (Cresskill, NJ) added three kills of her own. Rowan hit .216 in the final game while Ramapo went 16-34 hitting .353.

Anders finished the night with 16 kills and Runge added nine with a team high 18 digs. Fischer and Del Valle recorded 17 and 15 assists respectively and Anders added six total blocks, three solo. The Roadrunners hit .258 in the win with a total 39 kills on 93 attempts with 15 errors.

For the Profs, Pecoraro and Hendrickson recorded nine of the team's 24 kills while Chrissy McKay (Paramus, NJ) dished out 18 assists on the night. Roselle wrapped up the match with 14 digs and Chelsea Bowman (Penns Grove, NJ) added three service aces.

The Roadrunners return to action Thursday night when they take on Rutgers Newark at 7:00 PM at the Bradley Center. The Profs face off with the Ospreys of Richard Stockton College at 7:00 PM at home on Thursday.
