Madison, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team dropped a tough decision on the road against The College at Florham Devils, 0-1. The loss drops the Roadrunners to 2-2-1 while the Devils improve to 3-3.
The Devils goal came at the
15:55 mark when sophomore Brittany Kanickij (Hamilton, NJ) found the back of the net.
The Roadrunners took a total of six shots on goal during the game but rookie goalkeeper Melanie Pierson (Brookside, NJ) picked up the win by saving three shots in the first half for the Devils while fellow classmate Lauren Albrecht (Marlton, NJ) made three saves in the second half.
Senior captain Katie Miller (Hazlet, NJ) and sophomore Melissa Demko (East Brunswick, NJ) each ripped one shot on goal while sophomore Kim Bruno (Middletown, NJ) recorded two.
Junior Jessica DaRold (Sayreville, NJ) recorded two saves for Ramapo. The Devils and Roadrunners each had ripped nine shots during the game while the Devils were able to pick up seven corners to Ramapo's one.
The Roadrunners open up the NJAC season on Saturday, September 20th when they travel to Rutgers-Newark for a 7:00 PM matchup.
