Scranton, PA: The Ramapo College Lady Roadrunners posted a 3-1 loss to FDU-Florham, and a 3-0 victory over Wilkes College today in the second day match-ups at the Scranton Invitational.
FDU-Florham 1-3 (20-25, 29-27, 17-25, 14-25)
Rookie
Kayla Anders (Harrington Park, NJ) recorded a team leading 15 kills in the team's 3-1 loss to FDU. She added one service ace and 14 total blocks while
Alexandra Mendoza (Haskell, NJ) added seven of her own.
Tiffany Fischer (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) and
Michelle Del Valle (Teaneck, NJ) combined for 27 assist in the match and
Lea Steinman (Piscataway, NJ) led the team's defense with 22 digs.
Wilkes 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-19)
Anders again led the Roadrunners' offensive attack with 12 kills while Steinman and rookie
Elizabeth Steck (Marlton, NJ) combined efforts in the back row posting 36 total digs. Del Valle dished out 15 assists and Fischer added ten in the win.
For her efforts over the two day invitational, Anders was named to the Scranton Invitational All-Tournament team.
Ramapo plays their 2008 home opener on Tuesday, September 16th when they host conference rival William Paterson University at 7:00 PM.
