Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team played host to the Royals of the University of Scranton, and the Beavers of CCNY, in a tri-match-up today at the Bradley Center. In their final regular season home matches of the 2008 season, the Roadrunners posted a 3-1 loss to the Royals before facing off with CCNY.
In their first match, Ramapo took game one, 25-15, behind five kills from rookie
Kayla Anders (Harrington Park, NJ) and three kills from fellow rookie
Kimberly Runge (Closter, NJ). Defensive specialist
Elizabeth Steck (Marlton, NJ) recorded seven digs in the win. Ramapo hit .182 ahead of Scranton's negative .162. Jacqueline Pisano (Exton, PA) and Jenn McKeighan (Newton Square, PA) each contributed five digs in the game for the Royals.
Game two went to Scranton, 25-15 after hitting .189 over Ramapo's .031, to tie the match at one game each. Pisano recorded a team high seven kills and Abby Barrett (Towanda, PA) added three, with the team totaling 13. Anders led Ramapo once again with six of the team's eight kills and Steck and Runge contributed four digs each.
The Royals took a one-game lead with a 25-20, game three win. The Royals held a slight edge in hitting percentage, .136-.129 recording a team total 15 kills. The Roadrunners recorded ten with four from Runge. Pisano again recorded seven kills and McKeighan dished out 11 assists for Scranton.
Scranton knocked off Ramapo with a game-four, 25-13 win to improve to 23-9 overall on the year. The Royals hit .192 and Ramapo hit -.200 in the final game of the best-out-of-five match-up. Barrett posted a team leading four kills for the Royals and Anders led Ramapo with three kills. Steck led Ramapo's defense again with five digs.
In the match, Anders was the lone Roadrunner with double-digit kills, 16, while Runge finished the match with eight. Steck recorded 19 digs and Runge added 14 in the team's 14th loss of the season. Ramapo posted 35 kills as a team hitting .050. Rookie setters

Michelle Del Valle (Teaneck, NJ) dished out 15 and 13 assists respectively.
The Royals were led by Pisano with 16 kills and Barrett added nine. Pisano dug ten balls and Barrett, Jaclyn Bromley (Norristown, PA), and Deanna Every (East Norriton, PA) recorded 12, 11, and ten digs respectively. The team combined for 42 kills hitting .083 in the match.
