ROADRUNNERS DROP FINAL REGULAR SEASON MATCH TO CCNY

Mahwah, NJ: The Lady Roadrunners were shut out, 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-17) in their final regular season match-up with the Beavers of CCNY. Ramapo falls to .500 at 15-15 overall. Earlier in the day the Roadrunners fell to Scranton, 3-1, and CCNY followed with a 3-1 win over Scranton before the final match-up of the day between Ramapo and the Beavers.

In game one, Ramapo dropped a tough, 25-14 decision to fall a game behind in a best-out-of-five match-up. The Beavers were led by Floriana Garo (New York, NY) who posted four of the team's nine kills. The team hit a combined .333 over Ramapo's .130. Alexis Kinsman (Mystic, CT) dished out seven assists and Garo recorded two digs. Rookie Kayle Anders (Harrington Park, NJ) led the Roadrunners with four kills and Meagan Taege (Manahawkin, NJ) posted a team high four digs.

CCNY earned a game two win dropping the Roadrunners 25-13 behind five kills from Garo. The team recorded nine total kills and hit .368 in the game. Kinsman contributed eight assists. Anders led Ramapo once again recording four more kills, the team totaled ten hitting .185.

The Beavers walked away with the match victory taking the third game, 25-17. Garo and Castro put down six kills each and Kinsman dished out 11 assists. Anders led Ramapo with two kills while the team combined for four kills hitting -.048. CCNY hit .233.

The Beavers were led by Garo with 15 kills. Kinsman dished out a team high 25 assists and Garo led the defense with eight digs. Combined CCNY killed 32 balls with 11 errors on 70 attempts hitting .300 in the win.

On the day, Anders recorded ten kills and Taege led the defense with 11 digs. Ramapo hit .099 with 23 total kills on 71 attempts with 16 errors.

Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday night when they face off with NJAC rival William Paterson University in the opening round of the 2008 NJAC Championship Tournament at home at 7:00 PM. The Roadrunners earned the #3 seed for the tournament and host the #6 seeded Pioneers.

Earlier, the Beavers of the City College of New York defeated the Royals of the University of Scranton, 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-23) at the Bradley Center in Mahwah. With the win the Beavers improved to 18-9 overall. Scranton wraps up the day at 23-10 overall.

CCNY hit .304 in the win behind 15 kills from Jamie Edindjiklian (Long each, NY) and 12 kills from Melissa Blass (Oneonta, NY). The team combined for 59 kills. Alexis Kinsman (Mystic, CT) dished out a team high 49 assists and Floriana Garo (New York, NY) led the defense with 20 digs. Nicole Cascone (Champaign, IL) recorded 14 digs and Karina Castro added 13 of her own.

For the Royals, Jacqueline Pisano (Exton, PA) and Abby Barrett (Towanda, PA) recorded 12 kills each totaling 24 of the teams 46 kills. The Royals hit .206 in the loss. Jenn McKeighan (Newton Square, PA) dished out 36 assists and Pisano and Deanna Every (East Norriton, PA) each recorded 14 digs. McKeighan added three service aces in the team's tenth loss of the season.
