Mahwah, NJ: Rookie Nina Fragoso (Franklinville, NJ) scored in the 34th minute to open the scoring for Rowan University when they defeated Ramapo College today at the Athletic Center, 3-1. The Profs remain undefeated in conference play, 3-0-1 and 8-0-1 overall, while the Roadrunners fall to 2-3 in the conference and 4-5-1 overall.
Rowan held a 10-0 advantage in shots in the first half while recording two corner kicks. With just over one minute to play in the first half, Rowan was awarded a penalty kick following a Ramapo foul in the box. Sophomore Michelle Carrocino (Mickleton, NJ) capitalized on the pk while recording the game winner in the 44th minute.
Sophomore Jess Babice (Groveville, NJ) made it 3-0 with her team leading 12th goal of the season.
Rookie
Erica Kunzig (Wayne, NJ) recorded her second goal of the season from about 20 yards out to put Ramapo on the board with 37 seconds left in the game. The goal was only the second given up by Rowan this year.
Junior
Jessica DaRold (Sayreville, NJ) made three saves in the first half while rookie
Alyssa Krall (Toms River, NJ) recorded four in the second half for Ramapo.
The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to Manhattanville College on October 18th at 7:00 PM.
