ANDERS NOTCHES TRIPLE-DOUBLE AT SKIDMORE TOURNAMENT

Saratoga Springs, NY: Rookie Kayla Anders (Harrington Park, NJ) notched a triple-double this weekend at the Skidmore Classic Tournament, and was named to the All-Tournament Team, for her outstanding efforts on the court in the team's four match-ups.

Ramapo went 1-3 over the course of the two-day classic, to fall to 14-13 overall on the year. The team first dropped a 1-3 decision to SUNY Cortland (16-25, 25-23, 3-25, 20-25), before earning their lone win of the tournament over Clarkson University, 3-2 (25-22, 25-21, 21-25, 9-25, 15-13). On day two, Ramapo fell in four games, 1-3 (22-25, 25-22, 14-25, 18-15) to St. Lawrence University, before wrapping up the weekend with a 1-3 loss to SUNY New Paltz (13-25, 12-25, 25-21, 18-25).

In the team's first match with Cortland, Anders posted 17 kills and nine blocks and then notched her triple-double with 20 kills, ten digs, and 11 blocks in their win over Clarkson. She registered ten kills and eight digs in the team's 3-1 defeat to St. Lawrence, and wrapped up the week by tallying 15 kills, eight digs, and three blocks in their four-game loss to SUNY New Paltz.

Rookie Elizabeth Steck (Marlton, NJ) opened the tournament with a 20 dig performance in the team's tough loss to Cortland before adding another 27 digs in the team's five-game victory over Clarkson. Against Clarkson, fellow rookie Kimberly Runge (Closter, NJ) tallied a double-double with 15 kills and 35 digs while rookie setters Tiffany Fischer (Woodcliff Lake, NJ) and Michelle Del Valle (Teaneck, NJ) combined for 42 assists.

Runge continued recording double digit figures in the kill and dig catogories, putting down another 11 kills, and adding 25 digs against St. Lawrence University. A highlight of the team's tournament appearance was Steck's team leading 50 digs recorded in the match. Del Valle and Fischer dished out 15 and 11 assists respectively in the match-up.

Runge wrapped up the weekend with a third double-double including ten kills and 20 digs, and rookie Lea Steinman (Piscataway, NJ) added a team high 20 digs of her own in the loss to New Paltz. The two setters posted 34 of the team's 36 assists and Alexandra Mendoza (Haskell, NJ) posted five total blocks in the match.

The Roadrunners host their final regular season home matches on Saturday, November 1st when they face off with Scranton and CCNY at the Bradley Center commencing at 11:00 AM.
