Union, NJ: Ramapo College freshman
Kayla Anders (Harrington Park, N.J.) had a match-high 11 kills and three blocks to lift the Roadrunners past host Kean University, 3-0, in New Jersey Athletic Conference volleyball action on Tuesday evening.
The straight-set victory (25-16, 25-9, 25-17) improved the Roadrunners to 13-10 overall, 5-2 in the conference, while the Cougars fell to 7-14, 1-6 in the NJAC.
For Kean, rookie Stefanie Santiago (Bayonne, N.J.) had seven kills, while fellow classmate Jamie Sacco (Park Ridge, N.J.) added six kills and a team-high nine digs. Freshman Yesenia Velasquez (North Arlington, N.J.) dished out 18 assists.
In the victory, freshman
Kimberly Runge (Closter, N.J.) had 10 digs and five service aces and sophomore
Tara Tielmann (Gillette, N.J.) added five kills and two blocks.
The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to the Skidmore Tournament from October 24th-25th.
