Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's volleyball team, seeded #4, posted a 3-1 (30-25, 23-30, 33-31, 30-23) victory tonight over the #5 seeded Profs of Rowan University to advance to the semi-final round of the 2007 NJAC Championship Tournament.  Ramapo will face off with the #1 seeded Gothic Knights of NJCU on Thursday, November 1st at 7:00 PM.
The Roadrunners (19-10) posted a 30-25 game one victory after hitting .194 behind Rowan's (11-17) .345.  Ramapo forced eight Rowan reception errors, five for the first six points of the game to take a 6-0 lead out of the gate.  Sophomore 
Maureen Hennecke (Fair Lawn, NJ) and rookie 
Meagan Taege (Manahawkin, NJ) each recorded three kills in the opening game while senior setter 
Ashley Cornett (Hawthorne, NJ) dished out a team high ten assists.  Defensive specialist 
Christine Simmons(Upper Saddle River, NJ) recorded a team leading six digs.  Alexis Louie (Sewell, NJ) was the Profs kill leader with five while Chrissy McKay (Paramus, NJ) dished out 13 assists.  Ramapo hit 11 total kills to Rowan's 15.
Game two went to the Profs after hitting down 16 kills on 37 attempts with only five errors hitting .297.  Ramapo recorded 11 in the game hitting .152 with six errors on 33 attempts.  Siobahn Young (Mullica Hill, NJ) led the Profs with seven kills and McKay once again led the team with 15 assists.  Hennecke was Ramapo's hitting leader with six kills in the game two loss.
The Roadrunners fought back in game three, barely holding on, 33-31.  The Profs took control after being down, 19-25, scoring six straight points to tie the game at 25.  Ramapo capitalized on Rowan's negative hitting to take the game, going up two games to one.  Hennecke hit down four kills and Cornett dished out seven assists while Simmons, Cornett, and Taege each recorded three digs.  Young led the Profs in game three with four kills and Louie led the team's defense with five digs.
In the final game, which earned Ramapo the 3-1 match victory, Hennecke hit down a team leading eight kills and Taege dug 11 balls leading the team.  Cornett dished out 13 assists while Louie led the Profs with six kills.  Ramapo hit .224 in the final game while Rowan went 11-51 with five errors hitting .118.
Hennecke wrapped up the night with 21 kills and six digs while Cornett dished out 40 assists on the night.  Simmons recorded 25 digs and Taege followed with 15.  Ramapo went 51-146 with 24 errors hitting .185.  Rowan's Louie and Young combined for 32 of the team's 53 kills.  The team hit .167 in the loss.
