Mahwah, NJ: On the night the senior volleyball players were honored, the Lady Roadrunners earned a 3-0 (30-8, 30-15, 30-12) victory cruising by the Cardinals of York College. With the win the Roadrunners improve to 17-10 overall while the Cardinals fall to 3-22.
Ramapo's Meagan Taege (Manahawkin, NJ) led the team with 12 kills on 16 attempts hitting .562. Maureen Hennecke (Fair Lawn, NJ) posted six kills and Kristen Semeniak (East Brunswick, NJ) followed with five of her own. The Roadrunners put down 36 kills as a team hitting .491 in the non-conference match-up. Senior setter Ashley Cornett (Hawthorne, NJ) dished out a team high 28 assists and senior defensive specialist Christine Simmons (Upper Saddle River, NJ) led the way with four digs. Taege also recorded four digs in the win.
The Cardinals were led by Patricia Georgi (Flushing, NY) who put down five kills. Renee Thompson (Jamaica, WI) contributed a team high eight assists in the loss. York hit .000 as a team with 14 kills on 48 attempts with 14 errors.
The Roadrunners wrap up the regular season on Saturday, October 27th when they travel to Rutgers Newark for a noon start.
