Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team played host to the Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers Camden tonight at the Bradley Center in Mahwah in a NJAC match-up posting a 3-0 (30-8, 30-5, 30-10) victory to improve to 14-6 overall and 2-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Rutgers Camden remains defeated at 0-20 overall, 0-6 in the conference.
Ramapo posted 20 service aces over the course of the three games with sophomore Maureen Hennecke (Fair Lawn, NJ) recording a team leading eight. Hennecke led the Roadrunners in kills with nine and Kristen Semeniak (East Brunswick, NJ) and Tara Tielmann (Gillette, NJ) followed with six each. Ramapo posted 37 kills as a team with only four errors on 64 attempts hitting .516 on the night. Rutgers Camden hit -.193 posting 9 kills with 20 errors on 57 attempts. Marci Polite (Cherry Hill, NJ) led the Scarlet Raptors with four kills and Krista White (Cherry Hill, NJ) dished out a team high seven assists. Julie Lo (Cherry Hill, NJ) led the team's defense with ten digs. Ramapo's Ashley Cornett (Hawthorne, NJ) posted 29 assists in the win and Christine Simmons (Upper Saddle River, NJ) led the defense with six digs.
The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, October 16th when they travel to Glassboro, NJ to face NJAC rival, Rowan University. The Scarlet Raptors will face off with New Jersey City University at home on the 16th at 7:00 PM.
