Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team posted three wins out of three matches today in a NJAC/Skyline crossover in Mahwah. The Roadrunners first defeated Mt. St. Mary, 3-0 (30-9, 30-22, 30-14) before dropping St. Joe's Patchogue, 3-0 (30-19, 30-27, 30-25). Ramapo wrapped up the night dropping SUNY Old Westbury, 3-0 (30-23, 30-22, 30-27).
Match 1: Ramapo 3 – Mt. St. Mary 0
Rookie
Kaitlin Smith (Westwood, NJ) led the team with 13 kills on 19 attempts hitting .526 while fellow rookie
Maureen Hennecke (Fair Lawn, NJ) posted 1 kills of her own with four errors on 17 attempts going .412 in the win. Junior setter
Ashley Cornett (Hawthorne, NJ) dished out a team high 28 assists and defensive specialist
Christine Simmons (Upper Saddle River, NJ) led the defense with nine digs. Cornett added eight digs of her own. Junior
Joli Specia (Ringwood, NJ) recorded five total blocks including three solo. As a team the Roadrunners hit .408 posting 40 kills with 11 errors on 71 attempts. For Mt. St. Mary, Katie Mayer (Wappingers Falls, NY) led the way with eight kills while Katie Goodrich (Binghamton, NY) dished-out a team high 13 assists.
Match 2: Ramapo 3 – St. Joe's 0
Smith led the team in their second win of the day posting 13 kills and seven service aces. Hennecke and Specia recorded ten kills each and Rochelle Kizhnerman (Paramus, NJ) posted six of her own. Cornett dished out 6 assists and Simmons posted 12 digs.
Juliana DaCosta (Dumont, NJ) and Specia each posted two blocks. The Golden Eagles' Katie Johnson (Miller Place, NY) and Elyse Quirk (Brookhaven, NY) each recorded seven kills in the loss. Ramapo went 46 of 104 with 14 errors hitting .308 as a team while St. Joe's posted 33 kills on 93 attempts with 14 errors hitting .204.
Match 3: Ramapo 3 – Old Westbury 0
Hennecke grabbed a team high 12 kills in the final win of the day hitting .222 with 12 errors on 27 attempts. Specia added eight kills and
Dara Monasch (East Brunswick, NJ) posted eight of her own. Cornett wrapped up the day with 33 more assists in the team's victory while Simmons led the team once again in digs with 11.
Michelle Ayvas (Wood-Ridge, NJ) posted six digs and Smith racked up another five service aces for the team. Ramapo went 44 of 104 with 21 errors hitting .221 while Old Westbury posted 26 kills on 90 attempts with 21 errors hitting .056. Jennifer Hoyt (Syosset, NY) posted a team high seven kills and Janera Johnson (Richmond Hill, NY) posted six of her own. Jennifer Ragone (North Massapequa, NY) dished out 22 assists.

SUNY Old Westbury defeated William Paterson University, 3-1 (30-21, 21-30, 30-28, 30-25) led by Jessica Ratchford (Bronx, NY) who posted 20 kills and 12 digs. Ragone dished out 41 assists and Stacy Dubin (Selden, NY) posted 24 digs. The Pioneers' Michelle Banom (North Arlington, NJ) and Tamara Miller (Maplewood, NJ) posted 20 kills each and Dana Harsen dished out 22 assists.
Rutgers Newark posted a 3-0 (30-27, 30-18, 30-19) victory over SUNY Old Westbury behind Rachel Guyt (Hillsdale, NJ) and Julie Pape (Baldwin, NY) who posted 11 and ten kills respectively. Naz Hasanizadeh (Katy, TX) dished out 38 assists and Jessica Kleeman (Cherry Hill, NJ) recorded 12 digs for the team. For the panthers, Monique Midy (Westbury, NY) posted five kills leading the team and Ragone added 13 assists in the loss.
Rutgers Newark posted a 3-0 (30-25, 30-20, 30-13 victory over Mt. St. Mary's with Katlyn Lewis (Hillsdale, NJ) leading the way with 12 kills. Hazanizadeh dished out 28 assists and Kleeman led the defense with 11 digs. Mt. St. Mary's Mayer led the way with four kills.
Rutgers Newark went to four games with St. Joe's Patchogue earning a third win, 3-1 (30-25, 30-22, 29-31, 30-18) behind Jessica Cockerham (Keller, TX) who posted 16 kills and 14 digs with three service aces. Lewis and Jen Snyder (Gibbsboro, NJ) posted eight kills each while Lewis led the defense with 19 digs. St. Joe's Jennifer DeStefano (Manorville, NY) led the team with ten kills and Christina Auth (East Patchogue, NY) dished out 32 assists in the loss.
William Paterson earned a 3-1 (28-30, 30-27, 30-28, 30-13) victory over Mt. St. Mary behind Banom with seven kills and Hansen and Briana MacDonald (South Hackensack, NJ) who added five each. Hansen and MacDonald also added nine assists apiece while Hansen put down nine service aces. Mt. St. Mary's Mayer killed 12 balls while Shannon King (Beacon, NY) added eight kills of her own. King posted 15 digs and Ashley Barnhart (Kingston, NY) posted 13 digs of her own.
St. Joe's and William Paterson matched up in the final match of the day with St. Joe's coming out on top with a 3-1 (30-28, 26-30, 30-25, 30-28) victory.
The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday, September 7th when they travel to Baruch at 7:30 PM.
