ROADRUNNERS EARN 3-0 VICTORY OVER ROWAN

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team earned a 3-0 (30-20, 30-15, 30-18) victory over conference rival Rowan University tonight at the Bradley Center in Mahwah. With the win the Roadrunners improve to 14-9 overall, 4-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference while the Profs fall to 6-13 overall, 2-5 in the conference.

Ramapo's Kaitlin Smith (Westwood, NJ) led the team to a game one, 30-20 victory hitting 6-7 with no errors, .857. Juliana DaCosta (Dumont, NJ) followed with four kills on eight attempts with one error and Ashley Cornett (Hawthorne, NJ) dished out a team high 13 assists. The Profs' Karen Ramirez (Bogota, NJ) led the team with four kills on 13 attempts hitting .231. As a team the Profs hit .061 with nine kills on 13 attempts and seven errors while Ramapo went 14-35 with six errors hitting .229.

The Roadrunners controlled games two and three posting 30-15 and 30-18 victories. Smith posted five kills leading the way in game two while rookie Maureen Hennecke (Fair Lawn, NJ) led game three with six kills of her own. Cornett wrapped up the night with 40 assists and defensive specialist Christine Simmons (Upper Saddle River, NJ) led the team with 12 digs.

For the Profs, Alexis Louie (Sewell, NJ) posted three kills in game two and added two more kills in game three leading the way. Louie recorded eight kills on the night and Chrissy McKay (Paramus, NJ) dished out a team high 13 assists. Theresa Pecoraro (Cresskill, NJ) led the team with nine digs in the loss.

The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday, October 19th when they host Farmingdale at 7:00 PM. The Profs head to Susquehanna University for an invitational on October 20th where they will face Catholic at 6:00 PM.
