Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team fell short to the Cougars of Kean University today in a NJAC match-up at the Athletic Center in Mahwah. Ramapo falls to 5-4-2 overall, 1-2-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference while Kean improves to 7-2 overall, 4-0 in the conference.
The Cougars got on the scoreboard just over one minute before the end of the first half when rookie Amanda Pitts (Rahway, NJ) ripped a shot past senior goal tender CHRISTY TURNER (Ringwood, NJ) ending the half, 1-0 over the Roadrunners.
In the last 45 minutes of play, junior forward Allison Fream (Point Pleasant, NJ) posted back-to-back goals at the 51:18 and 79:32 minute marks adding insurance for the Cougars. Kean's Jessica Kogel (Hamilton, NJ) held the Roadrunners for the final minutes earning the shutout, 3-0.
Kogel posted six saves in the full game while TURNER blocked nine shots with three goals against in the full 90 minutes. Kean out shot Ramapo 18-10.
The Roadrunners will travel to Montclair State on Saturday, October 1st for a 1:00 PM start.
