Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team beat the College of Staten Island today, 9-1. With the win Ramapo is 3-1-1 overall while CSI drops to 0-1 on the year.
Ramapo scored at 5:13 in the game as rookies
Melissa Ohstrom (Dumont, NJ) scored and
Megan Jensen (Hackettstown, NJ) assisted. CSI answered back with a goal of their own at 24:48, as Shannon Connelly (Staten Island, NY) put one in the net to tie the game. Jensen then scored the eventual game winner as she connected with junior
Nicole Giancaspro (Mahwah, NJ) at 36:17. Jensen then assisted on Giancaspro's goal at 38:13 to bring the score to 3-1. Sophomore Lindsey Kotula (Manalapan, NJ) scored a goal of her own to end the first half of play at 4-1.
In the second half Ramapo continued to find the back of the net. Junior
Lisa Baldino (Marlboro, NJ) had back-to-back goals and fellow classmate
Meghan Farrell (Monroe Twp., NJ) also scored. Sophomore Ellen Ultz (Hackettstown, NJ) then had a pair of goals herself, one goal at 81:03 and the other coming off rookie
Ali Kronenfeld's (Marlboro, NJ) assist at 88:52 to close the game at 9-1.
