Mahwah , NJ : The Ramapo College men's volleyball team shut out the Beavers of City College of New York tonight at the Bradley Center in Mahwah. The Roadrunners improve to 8-2 overall while the Beavers fall to 0-4.
Ramapo was led by rookie DAVID ROSS (Perth Amboy, NJ ) and junior ALEX LIKHOVIDOV (Ringwood, NJ ) who posted seven kills each on 13 and 18 attempts respectively. BRENDAN WHITFORD (Lyndhurst, NJ ) and HECTOR RODRIGUEZ (West New York, NJ ) recorded five kills each while EMMANUEL ZEON (Howell, NJ ) posted four of his own. Sophomore setter JORDAN ROLDAN (Jersey City, NJ) and RODRIGUEZ combined for 34 assists and rookie NICK KALBACH (Old Bridge, NJ ) led the defense with six digs. RODRIGUEZ posted three total blocks.
For the Beavers, Newton Pimentel (Bronx, NY) led the team with 20 kills on 34 attempts and Adjet Kodia (Bronx, NY) followed with five kills on 18 attempts. Samuel Ferrer (Bronx, NY) dished out a team-high 31 assists and Jerry Reyes (Bronx, NY) and Ferrer led the defense with eight digs each.
Ramapo as a team posted 40 kills on 96 attempts with 17 errors hitting .240 and CCNY went 33 on 93 with 24 errors hitting .097 in the loss.
The Roadrunners will travel to SUNY New Paltz on Saturday, February 5th for a tri-match with NJIT starting at noon.
