Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College Roadrunners defeated The New Jersey City University Gothic Knights, 3-0 today in Mahwah. With the win the Roadrunners are now 8-5-3 overall and 2-3-2 in the NJAC while the Gothic Knights fall to 4-13 overall and 0-8 in the NJAC.
The Roadrunners scored the eventual game winner in the first half when sophomore
Jessica Giordano (Oakland, NJ) hit the back of the net off a cross from her sister sophomore
Chrissy Giordano (Oakland, NJ). Junior
Amy Ketchersid (Pt. Pleasant, NJ) posted the second goal of the game she was assisted by sophomore
Lindsay Kotula (Manalapan, NJ).
In the second half the Roadrunners scored again as sophomore
Ellyn Ultz (Hackettstown, NJ) hit the back of the net; she was assisted by junior
Ashley Jensen (Hackettstown, NJ).
Senior goalkeeper
Christy Turner (Ringwood, NJ) and sophomore goalkeeper
Samantha Gribben (Penquannock, NJ) split time in goal, earning the shutout. Turner recorded no saves while Gribben recorded four saves.
For New Jersey City goalkeeper Kasandra Zieniuk (Bayonne, NJ) made 16 saves in the game. The leading point scorer for the Gothic Knights, Katie Feehan (Manasquan, NJ) posted four shots in the game, all which were on goal.
The Roadrunners return to action on October 26th, 2005 for their last home game of the season as they play host to Rutgers-Camden University for a NJAC match-up starting at 4:00PM.
