Mahwah , NJ : The Ramapo College women's volleyball team defeated the Cardinals of York College tonight, 3-1 at the Athletic Center . The Roadrunners improve to 2-7 overall while York drops to 0-7.

Rookie setter ASHLEY CORNETT (Hawthorne , NJ ) dished out a team high 17 assists while senior setter LINDSAY WESTON (Torrington , CT ) added nine in the victory. Junior opposite REBECCA STRANG (Rockaway, NJ) recorded nine kills on 16 attempts leading the Roadrunners while CAMILA VIEIRA (Brazil ) and KRISSY GORSKI (Washington Twp, NJ) posted eight and six kills respectively. Rookie JOLI SPECIA (Ringwood , NJ ) recorded seven kills of her own while chipping in one dig. Junior ALISON MARZOCCHI (Harrington Park , NJ ) led the defense posting ten digs in four games.

For the Cardinals, Renee Thompson (St. Ann , Jamaica ) led the way recording eight kills on 32 attempts and Ann-Marie Bellerice (Port-Au-Prince , Haiti ) dished out a team high 15 assists.

The Roadrunners will travel to Scranton on Saturday, September 25th at 11:00 AM .
