Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team fell short to the Hawks of SUNY New Paltz 2-3 (20-30, 30-28, 23-30, 36-34, 10-15) today at the Athletic Center in Mahwah. Ramapo falls to 16-13 overall, 6-5 in the NECVA Metro Conference while the Hawks improve to 12-6 overall, 6-3 in the conference.
The Hawks put down 68 kills with 35 errors on 158 attempts hitting .209 while the Roadrunners killed 68 of their own with 42 errors on 160 attempts hitting .162 in the match-up. Chris Ganje (Halfmoon, NY) led the Hawks with 23 kills and six digs while Liam Doyle (Rhinebeck, NY) knocked down 12 and Mike LaRocco (Hauppauge, NY) and Greg Jackson (North Central Square, NY) recorded 11 apiece. Shawn Livingston (Kings Park, NY) led the defense with 13 digs and LaRocco added ten. Ganje and Jackson recorded seven total blocks and Rob Dietrich (San Jose, CA) blocked six. Sophomore setter Kevin Buggs (Tonawanda, NY) dished-out a team-high 57 assists.
For Ramapo, senior KRIS FRASER (Lakewood, NJ) entered the 30-kill club for the sixth time this season with 31 on 60 attempts. FRASER recorded 15 digs while adding eight total blocks. ALEX LIKHOVIDIV (Ringwood, NJ) added 17 kills while RYAN HOWELL (Bridgewater, NJ) posted six. Senior setter JOSH STOKES (San Luis Obispo, CA) dished out 61 assists in the loss.
Ramapo will travel to Queens on Tuesday, March 16th at 7:00 PM.
