RAMAPO SHUTS OUT LEHMAN VOLLEYBALL, 3-0

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team shut out the Lightning of Lehman College, 3-0 (30-22, 30-13, 30-16) tonight at the Athletic Center. Ramapo improves their overall record to 7-2 while the Lightning falls to 0-5.

Senior middle KRIS FRASER (Lakewood, NJ) led Ramapo hitting .500 with 18 kills on 30 attempts. FRASER added six service aces and six digs in the shut out victory while junior RYAN HOWELL (Bridgewater, NJ) led the defense with 13 digs. TOM WHITE (Clifton, NJ) followed with nine digs of his own. HOWELL, WHITE and rookie EMMANUEL ZEON (Howell, NJ) posted four kills while rookie KEVIN BIETKA (Flemington, NJ) downed eight of his own. BIETKA and HOWELL recorded two and one solo blocks respectively. Sophomore setter HECTOR RODRIGUEZ (West New York, NJ) and rookie setter JORDAN ROLDAN (Jersey City, NJ) combined for 35 assists in the match.

For Lehman, Rafael Vargas (Queens, NY) led the team with 12 kills on 27 attempts hitting .148 while Carlos Lopez (Queens, NY) hit .364 recording 11 kills on 22 attempts with three errors. Jacsier Lantigua (Dominican Republic), Edwin Gonzales (Dominican Republic), and Vargas all posted five digs in the loss. Lantigua dished out a team-high 24 assists.

Ramapo will host conference rival Mt. St. Vincent on Thursday, February 5th at 8:00 PM.
