WILLIAM PATERSON SHUTS OUT RAMAPO IN NJAC CONFERENCE MATCH-UP

Mahwah , NJ : The Ramapo College women's volleyball team played host to NJAC rival William Paterson University tonight at the Bill Bradley Sports and Recreation Center in Mahwah. The Roadrunners fell short, 0-3 (28-30, 21-30, 17-30) falling to 6-17 overall, 3-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference while the Pioneers improve to 19-8 overall, 4-2 in the conference.

Junior Lauren Shears (Montclair, NJ ) led the Pioneers recording 20 kills on 39 attempts hitting .436 in the win. Shears also posted ten digs for the double-double while Jen Cirello (Rochelle Park, NJ) led the defense with 12 digs. Cirello downed six kills and Kerri Lindenthaler (Haskell, NJ ) and Michelle Banom (North Arlington, NJ ) added eight kills apiece. Junior setter Jessica McKenna (Rutherford, NJ ) dished out a team-high 20 assists in the victory.

For the Roadrunners, junior SAMANTHA WEJNERT (Paramus, NJ ) led the team with 11 kills and JACQUELINE MONROY (Rahway, NJ ) recorded seven. REBECCA STRANG (Rockaway, NJ), CHARYS PATMORE (Paterson, NJ), and LISA FISCHMAN (Bloomfield, NJ) posted four kills apiece while MONROY led the defense posting 15 digs and senior defensive specialist CAMILA VIEIRA (Brazil) recorded 14 digs of her own. LINDSEY WESTON (Torrington, CT ) and ASHLEY CORNETT (Hawthorne, NJ ) combined for 26 assists.

The Roadrunners will travel to USMMA on Thursday, October 21 at 7:00 PM.
