Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team played host to the Cougars of Kean University today at the Athletic Center. Both teams entered the match-up with no wins. Ramapo fell short to Kean 2-3 (21-30, 19-30, 30-28, 31-29, 10-15) falling to 0-5 overall, 0-2 NJAC while the Cougars post their first win of the season improving to 1-6 overall, 1-0 in the conference.

Ramapo fought back after falling behind Kean 0-2 behind sophomore SAMANTHA WEJNERT (Paramus, NJ) who posted eight kills on 17 attempts, five assisted, and two solo blocks. REBECCA STRANG (Rockaway, NJ) killed eight of her own while also adding 16 digs in the match-up. Junior setter LINDSEY WESTON (Torrington, CT) dished out 12 assists and ALISON MARZOCCHI (Harrington Park, NJ) chipped in ten of her own.

For the Cougars, Iwona Janiak (Clifton, NJ) and Jihan Girard-Issac (Brooklyn, NY) each posted a double-double recording 13 kills and 13 digs and 13 kills and 11 digs respectively. Jessica Jorge (Hillside, NJ) killed 16 balls and Jessica Roeber (Kingston, NJ) dished out a team high 53 assists.

The Roadrunners will host Rutgers Camden on Thursday, September 18th at 7:00 PM.
