Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team dropped the Rams of Farmingdale State, 7-1 today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners improve to 3-1-1 overall while the Rams record their first loss of the season dropping to 1-1.

In the first half, rookie KELLY WALLACE (Florida, NY) netted the first goal just under two minutes into the game when she connected with a cross from sophomore LISA BALDINO (Marlboro, NJ). Senior captain KIM STEPIEN (Clifton, NJ) launched a direct kick outside the 18-yard box to take a 2-0 lead over the Rams. Rookies MARYBETH LYONS (Old Bridge, NJ) and AMY KETCHERSID (Point Pleasant, NJ) each posted one of their own at 30:49 and 39:31 respectively to end the first half, 4-0. MEGHAN FARRELL (Monroe Township, NJ) and DANA CHIAPPONE (Marlboro, NJ) each chipped in assists.

Ramapo opened the second half scoring at 59:10 when BALDINO hit the back of the net, unassisted. LYONS posted her second of the game at 61:37 from KRISTEN PETRETTA (Middletown, NJ) and BALDINO added another at 71:50. Farmingdale snapped the shutout with just over five minutes left in the game when Pam Baione (Farmingdale, NY) connected with a cross from Natalie Budinich (East Northport, NY).

Ramapo posted 13 shots in the first half and 14 in the second out shooting Farmingdale, 27-5.

Sophomore goalkeepers CHRISTY TURNER (Ringwood, NJ) and ANDREA ORTADO (East Brunswick, NJ) split the duties recording three saves in the game. Farmingdale's Lisa Richter (Point Lookout, NY) blocked eight shots in the first and six in the second.

The Roadrunners will travel to St. Elizabeth on Wednesday, September 17th at 4:00 PM.
