Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team played host to the Maccabees of Yeshiva University tonight at the Athletic Center where they posted a 3-0 (30-20, 30-17, 30-27) shut out conference victory. Ramapo improves to 13-10 overall, 6-4 in the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association Metro Division, while the Maccabees fall to 2-8 overall, 0-6 in the conference.
Sophomore outside hitter ALEX LIKHOVIDOV (Ringwood, NJ) recorded 11 kills while junior RASKO PJESIVAC (Belgrade, Serbia) added ten kills on 23 attempts. Senior TOM WHITE (Clifton, NJ) posted nine and rookie EMMANUEL ZEON (Howell, NJ) downed eight of his own. Senior JOSH STOKES (San Luis Obispo, CA) and GERALD REINER (Ringwood, NJ) recorded five and three kills respectively. Rookie setter JORDAN ROLDAN (Jersey City, NJ) and sophomore setter HECTOR RODRIGUEZ (West New York, NJ) combined for 42 assists. LIKHOVIDOV led the defense with 11 digs and WHITE added nine in the match-up. The Roadrunners posted 52 total kills in the victory.
For Yeshiva, Joey Small (Los Angeles, CA) posted six kills and Jacob White (Silver Spring, MD) and Benjamin Izsak (Paris, France) smacked down five and four kills respectively. Small added 13 digs leading the defense and Ira Karoll (Chicago, IL) dished out a team-high 16 assists. Yeshiva downed 20 kills in the loss.
Ramapo will travel to the Endicott Tournament on Friday, March 2, 2004
