Mahwah, NJ: Junior middle blocker KRIS FRASER (Lakewood, NJ) posted 28 kills driving Ramapo past Hunter in five, 3-2. Roadrunners downed the Hawks, 30-32, 30-25, 30-26, 27-30, 22-20 improving to 18-5 overall, 9-1 in the conference while Hunter falls to 16-3 overall, 11-0 NECVA.
FRASER added five digs in the match-up while junior TOM WHITE (Clifton, NJ) led the defense with 17 digs. WHITE also downed nine kills with two errors on 25 attempts. Sophomore JERRY ROMAN (West New York, NJ) killed ten balls with no errors while also posting four assisted blocks. Rookie BRYAN BODAJ (Avenel, NJ) and sophomore ALEX UNGER (Reading, PA) recorded 14 kills a piece. BODAJ posted three solo and eight assisted blocks while RYAN HOWELL (Bridgewater, NJ) added five assisted of his own. Senior setter PEDRO HERNANDEZ (West New York, NJ) and HOWELL dished out a combined 63 assists. As a team the Roadrunners hit 78 for 174 with 26 errors, .299 over Hunter's 71 for 177 with 33 errors, .215.
Alfred Daos (Long Beach, NY) recorded 15 kills for the Hawks and Michael McFalls (Woodside, NY) and Roman Litvin (Bronx, NY) added 19 and 13 respectively. Daos posted 22 digs while Ray Bello (Bronx, NY) dug 11 of his own. Bello and Neil Hong (Honolulu, HI) combined for 58 assists.
The Roadrunners will travel to York College tomorrow, March 11th at 8:00 PM.
