Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team defeated the Profs of Rowan University tonight at the Athletic Center, 100-90. Ramapo improves to 24-2 overall, tying the school record for wins set by the 1991 Final Four Team. Rowan falls to 20-6 overall.
Ramapo went on a 10-0 run to start the game and led the entire first half jumping ahead by as many as 15. Rowan fought back and came within five to end the first half, 46-41, and took the lead four minutes into the second half, 54-53. Ramapo took control once again and never looked back dropping the Profs by ten.
Senior point guard TENNYSON WHITTED (Jersey City, NJ) recorded a triple-double with 20 points, ten rebounds, and 12 assists. WHITTED shot 4-8 from the floor and a perfect 12-12 from the line. JARED MILLIGAN (Ringwood, NJ) recorded 26 points while RASHEEN GADSEN (Jersey City, NJ) netted 16 of his own. GADSEN pulled down 15 boards and added three steals in the match-up. The Roadrunners shot 32-72 (44%) from the floor over Rowan's 33-87 (38%).
For the Profs, Earle Agee (Tinton Falls, NJ) recorded a team-high 32 points shooting 11-18 from the floor, 6-11 from behind the arc. Yves Terilus (Trenton, NJ) and Derek Mosley (Bridgeton, NJ) netted 13 and 12 points respectively while Tylee Thomas (Wildwood, NJ) led the team with ten boards.
#1 seeded Ramapo will take on the #3 seeded Red Hawks of Montclair State on Friday, February 28th at 7:00pm for the NJAC Championship. The winner will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
