Mahwah, NJ: The Roadrunners clinched the #1 seed in the NJAC tournament tonight at the Athletic Center after downing the Cougars of Kean University, 102-70. Ramapo improves their win streak to 13 standing at 20-2 overall, 14-1 in the conference while Kean falls to 10-11 overall, 6-9 NJAC.

Ramapo took the lead three minutes and 33 seconds into the first half and never looked back dropping the Cougars by 32 points. Ramapo led by 19 points at the end of the half and shot 15-34 from the floor in the second to pull ahead of Kean. The Roadrunners shot 46% from the floor including 11 three pointers while the Cougars shot 49% over Ramapo.

CHARLES RANSOM (Jersey City, NJ) shot 8-16 from the floor including 4-11 from the arc recording 23 points while also adding five boards and five assists in the game. Junior JAY DEGROAT (Middletown, NY) netted 15 points and AMIN WRIGHT (Jersey City, NJ) added 14 while RASHEEN GADSEN (Jersey City, NJ) and KEVIN STOKES (Wyckoff, NJ) each contributed ten a piece. Senior TENNYSON WHITTED (Jersey City, NJ) tallied eight points and five assists while adding five steals.

For the Cougars, senior Ralf Lora (Perth Amboy, NJ) recorded a team high 29 points and pulled down five boards while Armet Coles (Staten Island, NY) chipped in 12 points and six boards of his own. Tan Kessler (Istanbul, Turkey) added ten points and six rebounds in the game.

The Roadrunners will travel to Rutgers Camden on Saturday, February 15th at 3:00 PM.
