Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team fell short, 92-79 to the Gothic Knights of New Jersey City University tonight in Mahwah. Ramapo falls to 3-1, 0-1 NJAC while NJCU improves to 21- overall, 1-0 in the conference.
New Jersey City led by as many as 22 in the first half while Ramapo was only able to push two points ahead of their opponent. The Knights headed into the locker room with a 14 point half time lead. Ramapo took a one point lead with 8:35 remaining but was unable to capitalize on NJCU's 26 turnovers.
Abraham Williams (Jersey City, NJ) led the Knights posting 22 points and seven rebounds in the match-up. Mark Washington (East Orange, NJ) netted 18 and Alex Mirabel (Jersey City, NJ) and Samar Battle (East Orange, NJ) each added 15 in the victory. Battle added ten rebounds and Williams followed with seven. NJCU shot 34-63 (54%) from the floor over Ramapo's 30-66 (45.5%).
Senior CHARLES RANSOM (Jersey City, NJ) led Ramapo with 24 points shooting 7-18 from the floor. JARED MILLIGAN (Ringwood, NJ) netted 16 points and GREG MCBAIN (Wyckoff, NJ) and AMIN WRIGHT (Jersey City, NJ) recorded 12 and ten points respectively. WRIGHT dished out a team-high six assists in the game.
Ramapo will travel to Rowan on December 13th at 8:00 PM.
