Mahwah, NJ: The Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers Newark defeated the Ramapo College Roadrunners, 3-1 in an NJAC conference game in Mahwah. Ramapo falls to 6-7-2 overall, 1-4-1 NJAC while Rutgers Newark improves to 7-7 overall, 2-4 in the conference.

The Scarlet Raiders opened the scoring at 10:38 when junior Jenna Weiss (Livingston, NJ) connected with a cross from Jamie Henriques (Howeel, NJ). The Roadrunners bounced back to tie the game when freshman AMY KETCHERSID (Point pleasant, NJ) knocked in one at 13:47 assisted by rookie KELLY WALLACE (Florida, NY). Rutgers Newark took the lead in the 31st minute when Heather Strucke (Howell, NJ) netted one of her own from Henriques. Marie Cassels (Yonkers, NY) added an insurance goal with a little over eight minutes left to drop the Roadrunners, 3-1.

CHRISTY TURNER (Ringwood, NJ) played the full 90 minutes in front of the net for Ramapo blocking three shots while Ashley Woodruff (North Plainfield, NJ) stopped nine.

Ramapo will travel to Rowan University on Saturday, October 18th at 1:00 PM.
