Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team played host to the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers Newark today at the Athletic Center dropping a 3-1 (30-27, 19-30, 14-30, 18-30) decision in Mahwah. Ramapo aflls to 3-17 overall, 0-5 NJAC while Rutgers Newark remains undefeated in conference play improving to 6-0, 18-5 overall.

Despite the loss, Ramapo snatched game one from the Scarlet Raiders dropping the team by three, 30-27. Ramapo was led by sophomores REBECCA STRANG (Rockaway, NJ) and SAMANTHA WEJNERT (Paramus, NJ) posting eight kills apiece. ALISON MARZOCCHI (Harrington Park, NJ) and CHARYS PATMORE (Paterson, NJ) combined for eight kills while MARZOCCHI combined with fellow sophomore LYNDSEY WESTON (Torrington, CT) for a total 25 assists. KAITLIN RINALDI (Paramus, NJ) led the defense digging 14 balls and WEJNERT followed posting ten digs of her own.

For the Scarlet Raiders, junior Robin Pearce (Shadow Hills, NJ) led the way posting 22 kills and ten digs in the match. Domini Lanzone (River Edge, NJ) recorded 16 kills while Sharon Guise (North Arlington, NJ) downed 11. Sheena Eldred (Fairfax, VA) dished out a team high 46 assists while posting six digs and four kills.

The Roadrunners will host John Jay tomorrow at 7:00 PM.
