Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team played host to the Profs of Rowan University today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners dropped a 2-1 decision after tying the game ten minutes into the second half. Ramapo falls to 4-8-1 overall, 1-3-1 NJAC while the Profs improve to 10-3-1, 3-2 NJAC.
Kathryn Ponzi gave Rowan a 1-0 lead off a direct kick 12 minutes into the game (12:33). Ramapo fought back in the second, tying the game at 55:21 when rookie JESSICA STOVEKEN (Lyndhurst, NJ) connected with a pass from senior JESSICA BROWN (Hadon Twp., NJ). Kacy Dadura netted the winning goal for Rowan, assisted by sophomore Bethany Christie, 68:31. The Roadrunners were unable to connect falling short 2-1 to the Profs.
Rookie CHRISTY TURNER (Ringwood, NJ) and Profs goalkeeper Becky Petsch each blocked six shots in the match-up.
Seniors KIMBERLY TAVALARO (Clark, NJ), BROWN, ANN SANFORD (Whiting, NJ), PAMELA KALYOUSSEF (Woodcliff Lake, NJ), KATE DENOVA (West Milford, NJ), and SYNDY KEVITZ (Roxbury, NJ) were honored before the start of the game today. All will be graduating in May. Congratulations and good luck to all of them in the future!
