Hernandez earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors this season after winning an event at the ECAC Metro Championships. The three-time NJAC Track Athlete of the Week won the 3,000 me- ter race with a Ramapo school record-breaking time of 8:32.31 at the ECAC Championships. He also competed at the Tufts Last Chance Meet in the distance medley relay with teammates Juelis, Diana, and Tuohy, who earned a first place ribbon with a time of 10:00.08. The freshman will travel to Winston-Salem to compete in the NCAA Championships, where he is seeded third in the 3,000 meter event. Hernandez currently ranks 43rd nationally in the event this season.
