Jersey City, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team defeated New Jersey City University today in NJAC action, 27-4. The Roadrunners (17-8 overall, 4-3 NJAC) extended their win streak to five games while they scored the most runs since the 2012 season. The Gothic Knights move to 17-15-1 overall and 0-7 in the conference.
Ramapo scored at least one run in the first four innings before NJCU scored their first.

Jack Tallent each recorded RBI singles while Novakowski belted a two-run home run to push the score, 5-0. The Roadrunners tallied five more runs to take a 10-0 lead in the third highlighted by a two-RBI single from Bradon Tauber. While in the fourth Tauber laced an RBI single to center field to plate
Braden Schappert, 11-0. NJCU scored two runs in the fifth as Frandi Yunior Mosquea drove in Ray Gelok with an RBI single while Collin Elam stole home later in the inning. In the top of the seventh,
Nick Pellegrino belted a three-run home run over the left field fence to extend the lead, 14-2. In the eighth inning,

Derek Brand and Egner, 19-2. Dandrea later drove in
Melvin Matias with an RBI single, 20-2. The Gothic Knights plated one run on a Ramapo error in the eighth before the Roadrunners added seven runs in the top of the ninth. Schappert,
Nick Cavagnaro and Tauber each drove in one RBI while Zwolinski drove a bases loaded double to left-center to pick up three RBI. Brand wrapped up the scoring for the Roadrunners with an RBI single to plate Zwolinski for the 27-3 score. In the bottom of the ninth, Kenneth Wines drew a bases loaded walk to plate the final run for NJCU.
James Kahn (2-3) earned the win on the mound for the Roadrunners as he struck out four, walked five and scattered four hits over six innings of work. Ramapo recorded 25 hits and 25 runs in the game. Schappert finished 5-7 with two RBI while Chiola and Tauber posted three hits and four RBI. Pellegrino drove in three RBI on three hits while Zwolinski and Novakowski each finished with one hit, two runs scored and three RBI.
The Roadrunners and Gothic Knights will return to action tomorrow afternoon at Jeff Maund Field to complete the NJAC home-and-home series. First pitch is set for 3:30 PM.
