Mahwah, NJ: Junior women's indoor track and field runner
Dale Leonard has qualified for the 2025-2026 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in the 800-meter run. The NCAA Committee announced the participants who qualified on NCAA.com this evening. The top 20 declared individuals in all contested events were accepted into the championship meet.
Leonard qualified for her second NCAA Indoor Championship, this time in the 800-meter run. She previously qualified for the mile during the 2023-2024 indoor season where she placed 4th overall, earning her first indoor All-American honor. Leonard has broken the Ramapo 800m program twice this season. She set it at the NJAC Championships where she won the event in 2:12.37. Leonard will compete in the prelims of the 800m on Friday afternoon at 4:45pm while the 800m finals will be held on Saturday at 4:50pm. The top eight advance to the final with the top two in each heat automatically advance plus the next two fastest.
This year's NCAA Championship meet will be held from March 13-14 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama with the Southern Athletic Association and the Birmingham CrossPlex serving as hosts. The Ramapo track and field program is no stranger to the Birmingham Crossplex as two former NCAA Champions; Jeremy Hernandez (2017-2018) and Cheickna Traore (2022-2023) each won a national title in Alabama during their time in maroon and black.
Live video and results links for Leonard's NCAA journey will be on our social media and ramapoathletics.com.
