MICKENS DOUBLE-DOUBLE LEADS RAMAPO OVER WPU, 82-59

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team defeated William Paterson University tonight at the Bradley Center, 82-59. The Roadrunners wrap up the season with a 7-18 overall record, 6-12 in the NJAC. The Pioneers also wrap up the season tonight with an 8-17 overall record and 3-15 in the league.

The game was tied three times in the first four minutes of the game before Elijah Barlow sank a pull up jumper to tie the game for the final time, 9-9 with 15:20 on the clock. That started a 27-6 run which included nine points from Orion Mickens, six points from Barlow, five points from both Jalen Thomas and Tyrell Murchison while Enoch Hutchinson added two points. The run was capped off with a jumper from Barlow with 4:34 remaining in the first half. Each team added seven points to their score to wrap up the half as the Roadrunners went into the locker room up, 41-22.

With just under 18 minutes on the clock in the second half, Thomas sank a jumper for the Roadrunners which started a 12-1 run over the next 4:20 as they took a 60-28 lead with 13:56 on the clock. The run was capped off with a pair of free throws from Isaiah Chung. WPU's next nine points came from beyond the three-point line as they sank three three-pointers, 37-62. The final ten minutes of the game was evenly played as Ramapo added 20 points while the Pioneers scored 19. Chung posted eight, Barlow added four, Hutchinson and Mickens each added three while Murchison posted two. The Roadrunners were led by Mickens as he posted 22 points and 18 rebounds, setting a new career high. Barlow tallied 17 points, three rebounds, two assists and a team high seven steals. Murchison finished with 14 points including 2-2 from the three-point line while he added seven rebounds, one block and one steal. Hutchinson tallied 12 points, including two three-pointers while he added five rebounds, four steals and a team high eight assists. Chung contributed with ten points and six rebounds off the bench while Jalen Thomas added seven points, four rebounds and four assists. Ramapo shot 47% (35-74) from the field, 45% (5-11) from beyond the three-point line and 87% (7-8) from the free throw line.

For the Pioneers, Ethan Paul collected 12 points, three rebounds, two assists and one block while Delani Hyde added 11 points, two assists and one steal. Ty'Shawn Pearson led the way with nine rebounds while Anghel Gomez posted eight points and seven rebounds. The team shot 36% (22-61) from the floor in the game, 25% (9-36) from the three-point line and 60% (6-10) from the free throw line.
