MEN'S 4x200 RELAY TEAM SETS NEW SCHOOL RECORD

Staten Island, NY: The Ramapo College men's indoor track and field team competed at the Metropolitan Championships today at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. The Roadrunners posted 30 points as they finished in 7th place overall.

The 4x200m relay team recorded a combined time of 1:28.36 which is a new school record as they placed 2nd overall. The team was made up of Wander Dilone, Logan Natale, Samuel Thomas and Jordan Hart. John Swaney was one of Ramapo's top individual finishers in the meet with a fourth-place finish in the 1,000m run. Swaney's time of 2:32.67 is now fourth all-time in program history. In the 400m dash, Natale clocked in at 50.46 seconds for a seventh-place finish while his time is now 8th all-time in program history. Hart clocked in at 10th place in 50.69 seconds in the same event. Natale also grabbed a fourth-place finish in the 200m dash when he crossed the line in 22.19 seconds, which is now third all-time at Ramapo. Thomas placed 10th overall in the 200m dash in 22.44 seconds, his time is now tied for eighth all-time in program history while Dilone clocked in at 22.58 seconds, which is now 10th all-time.

Ryan Pena placed ninth overall in the 800m run with a time of 1:58.28. Thomas posted a time of 7.04 seconds in the 60m dash prelims, his time is tied for 7th all-time in program history. Brian Metz finished in sixth-place overall in the 3k run, he recorded a time of 9:08.27 while James Brill placed 10th overall in 9:18.74. The 4000m distance medley relay team made up of Swaney, Alexander Jimenez, Shyami Craig, and Pena, posted a combined time of 11:00.42 as they placed fourth overall. The 4x400m relay team placed 7th overall with a time of 3:31.74. The team was made up of Anthony Gentile, Mark Shinkorenko, Sebastian Herrera and Christian Kelly. In the field events, Ben Zelasco posted a mark of 6.26m in the long jump for a 14th place finish while it's now 10th all-time at Ramapo.

The team returns to action on Friday, Feb. 6th when select members of the team will compete at the Scarlet Knights Open at the New York Armory.
