Wilkes-Barre, PA: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team played two tough non-conference matches today on the road as King's College hosted a tri-match. The host Monarchs defeated the Roadrunners, 3-2 (26-24, 25-20, 16-25, 20-25, 15-10) in the first match of the day. Ramapo then bounced back to defeat St. Joseph's University Brooklyn, 3-2 (25-15, 24-26, 27-25, 20-25, 15-10).
Asya Akar collected 30 total kills on the day along with six aces, 35 digs and one solo block.
Valentina Palen tallied 28 kills along with eight digs and one solo block while
Jasmine Rolle put down 26 kills to hit .375 in the two matches with three aces, three digs and three solo blocks.
Emma Garcia led the team on defense with 49 total digs while she added one solo block and a passing % of .935.
Katie Bishop dished out a team high 92 assists while she recorded four kills, and six aces.
Ramapo will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 9th when they host Mount Saint Vincent in a non-conference match at 6:00 PM.
