Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team took down non-conference rival Moravian University tonight at the Athletic Center Turf Field, 2-0. The Roadrunners improve to 2-1 overall while the Greyhounds (2-1 overall) suffer their first loss of the season.
The Roadrunners got on the board in the first half (26:17) when
Dylan Biernacki collected a rebound off an earlier shot from
Lucas Mielnikiewicz. Biernacki scored his first collegiate goal to put Ramapo up 1-0. With 59:23 on the clock in the second half,
Luigi Portillo posted his second goal of the season off a pass from Mielnikiewicz to give the Roadrunners a 2-0 lead.
Zachary Natt collected seven saves in his second shutout of the season for the Roadrunners. Each team recorded 18 shots including seven on goal while the Greyhounds posted five corner kicks. Casey Prajzner recorded five saves in goal for Moravian.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday at home when they host Cairn University (0-1-1 overall) at 6:00 PM.
