WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL EARNS TWO WINS

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team picked up two wins today in a non-conference tri-match as they improved to 9-3 overall. The Roadrunners earned 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 26-24) win over the City College of New York in the first match before defeating The College at Old Westbury, 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-14).

Jasmine Rolle posted 15 kills, seven digs and one ace in the win over CCNY. Asya Akar collected 11 kills and 12 digs while Alyssa Edmond and Katie Bishop split the setting duties in the first match with Edmond collecting 16 and Bishop adding 15. Wendy Palaguachi led the team with 14 digs on defense while she added three aces and two assists.

For CCNY, Gia Skenderi led the team with seven kills while she added four digs and one assist. Serena Warner added four kills while Danuzia Caixeta Palmer recorded a team high 11 assists. Rosalynda Russo led the way with 17 digs on defense.

In their win over Old Westbury, Akar led the way with 14 kills while adding five digs. Rolle and Valentina Palen each collected seven kills while Palen posted five digs and three aces. Bishop led the way with 18 assists while Emma Garcia posted a team high 18 digs on defense.

The Panthers got three kills each from Nicole Zugnoni, Kasey Coppola and Paige Herbert. Herbert added five digs while Katia Gomez also recorded five assists to lead the team. Stephanie Velez led the way with eight digs on defense.

The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 30th when they host New Jersey City University for a NJAC match at the Bradley Center at 7pm.
