Doylestown, PA: The Delaware Valley University field hockey team defeated Ramapo College 2-1 in overtime tonight at Robert A. Lipinski Field. The Aggies move to 3-4 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 3-5 overall.
The Aggies scored the game-winner just fifty seconds into the overtime period as Maggie Fijal scored off an assist from Brynne Miller for the 2-1 score. DelVal scored in the first five minutes of the game as Fijal put the Aggies on the board off a pass from Alex Graffius for a 1-0 score. Ramapo would tie the game in the second quarter when
Allison Tanasy hit the back of the net in the 24th minute as
Abigail DeYoung assisted, 1-1. The two teams played a tie game through the final two quarters of action as they went into overtime. Ramapo recorded ten shots in the game including five on goal while DelVal posted 14 shots in the game with eight on goal. The Aggies held an 11-5 advantage in penalty corners for the game.
The Roadrunners return to action on October 4th when they travel to NJAC rival Montclair State University for a game at 12pm.
