Montclair, NJ: The Kean University baseball team came back to defeat Ramapo College in an elimination game this afternoon at Yogi Berra Stadium, 4-2. The Cougars move to 35-7 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 27-14 on the season.

John Higgins worked a four-pitch walk before
Jesse Swartout took the fourth pitch he saw and belted his team leading sixth home run of the season. Kean would tie the game off a two-run home run of their own before three straight singles with two outs brought home the go-ahead run, 3-2. The Cougars added an insurance run in the top of the eighth when Justin Teixeira laced a single through the right side of the infield to late Dan Reistle, 4-2.
Cougar starting pitcher Jason Gilman (12-0) kept the Roadrunners from scoring the remainder of the game to earn the complete game victory. He struck out five, walked three and let up four hits and two runs.
Jack Martin (6-2) struck out seven, walked one and scattered seven hits over six complete innings while he surrendered three runs.
Ryan Lasko let up one run and four hits in 1.2 innings of work with one strikeout and no walks.
Nick Danbrowney worked the final 1.1 innings for the Roadrunners on the mound with one strikeout while he did not surrender a hit. With his strikeout in the ninth, Danbrowney collected his 220th career strikeout which is second all-time at Ramapo. Higgins led the Roadrunners at the plate finishing 2-3 in the game.
