RAMAPO SECURES KEY NJAC WIN OVER TCNJ, 8-2

BAILEY COLLECTS 100TH CAREER HIT

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College baseball team came back to defeat the College of New Jersey today, 8-2. The Roadrunners improve to 24-11 overall and 8-7 in the NJAC while the Lions fall to 21-15 overall and 8-7 in the league.

Ramapo jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead after two innings of action. The Lions tied the game up with two unearned runs in the fourth inning before Ramapo retook the lead in the fifth. Caruso led off the inning with a bunt single before Zack Bailey laced a double down the left field line to put runners at second and third. Dominic Ciani recorded a sac fly to center field which plated Caruso as Bailey moved to third base. Following the second out of the inning, John Higgins laced a single to plate Bailey for the 4-2 lead. In the seventh, Bailey doubled with one out before Ciani was intentionally walked. The Lions got the second out of the inning on a fly out before Higgins walked to load the bases. Bailey later scored on a wild pitch before Ciani scored on an infield single from Swartout, 6-2. Swartout and Higgins each stole before Lalomia laced a single through the left side of the infield to plate both runs, 8-2.

Ryan Lasko worked the seventh as he struck out one and let up just one hit. Jack Martin worked a hitless eighth while Will Paoli started the ninth inning with two strikeouts. Carlo Lalomia, Jr. induced a groundout to end the game as Ramapo earned a key NJAC victory.
