Mahwah, NJ: The #18/20 ranked Rowan University baseball team swept Ramapo College this afternoon in NJAC action. The Profs (25-8, 10-4 NJAC) won game one, 10-3, and game two, 8-5. The Roadrunners move to 23-11 overall and 7-7 in the NJAC.
Game One
The Profs scored one in the fourth, three in the fifth, one in the sixth, two in the seventh and three in the ninth while the Roadrunners got on the board with three runs in the bottom of the ninth. Marco Mannino led the Profs in game one as he finished 4-6 with four RBI and one run scored while Tyler Cannon, Phil Dedalis Brayden Davis and Nick Struble all collected two hits for the team. Steven Maiers (4-1) struck out six, walked one and scattered seven hits in eight innings of action on the mound. Lucas Hampel worked the ninth with four walks while he let up two hits and three runs.
Ramapo got on the board in the ninth when Dominic Ciani laced a hard hit single up the middle to plate

John Higgins worked a bases-loaded walk to force home
Shaun Piotrowski for the team's third run of the game.
For the Roadrunners, Ciani finished 3-5 with two RBI while Higgins went 2-4 at the plate with one RBI and a walk.
Nick Danbrowney (5-3) took the loss on the mound for Ramapo. He struck out eight, did not walk a batter and let up 11 hits over six complete innings of work.
Game Two:
Rowan jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first inning while they added two runs in the top of the second. Ramapo came back with two of their own in the bottom half of the second before Rowan got two back in the fourth and added one in the eight for an 8-2 lead. The Roadrunners pushed three runs across in the bottom of the eighth inning to cut the lead to just three runs.

Matt Lalomia. Ciani drew a bases loaded walk to force home
Brandon Tauber before the Profs got out of it with a fielder's choice ground out to hold the 5-2 lead. In the bottom of the eighth,
Eric Knapp led off with a walk before Rowan induced a foul out to first and a fielder's choice ground out at second. Ciani singled to center field before
Zach Novakowski took the second pitch he saw and launched it over the right-field wall to plate three runs and cut the Rowan lead to just three. Neither team would push run across in the ninth as Rowan came away with the NJAC road sweep. Tyler Parks started on the mound for Rowan where he struck out four, walked eight and let up just two hits and two runs in 4.1 innings of work. Charlie Russell (1-0) earned the win in relief; he did not let up a run while he surrendered just one hit in 2.2 innings of work. Mark Grubb earned the save with one strikeout while he did let up a hit in the ninth inning.
Michael Zalinkanskas (1-1) took the loss on the mound in 1.2 innings of work as he struck out one, walked three and surrendered six hits and five runs. Ciani led the team at the plate in game two as he finished 2-3 with one RBI and one run scored while Novakowski finished with three RBI.
Ramapo returns to action on Thursday, April 24th when they host TCNJ at home at 3:30pm.
