WOMEN'S LACROSSE TOPS DELVAL IN NON-CONFERENCE ACTION, 16-12

INDOMENICO TALLIES 100TH CAREER SAVE

 Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team defeated Delaware Valley University tonight at the Athletic Center in non-conference action, 16-12. The Roadrunners improve to 5-3 overall while the Aggies move to 6-4 overall.
 
Ramapo built a first half lead with four goals in the first quarter and six in the second. They would hold the Aggies to four goals in the first two quarters to take a 10-2 lead at halftime. The Roadrunners added four goals in the third to DelVal's two while the Aggies outscored Ramapo in the final quarter of action, 6-2.
 
After the Aggies got on the board first, Ramapo's Erin Smeilus and Lauren Travaglini scored back-to-back goals off assists from Esme Espinosa before Bethany Glaser scored unassisted for a 3-1 lead. Ramapo held a 4-2 lead going into the second where they extended their lead 6-4 before scoring four unanswered goals that extended into the third with four more to take a 14-4 lead. The Aggies tallied two goals to wrap up the third and the first four goals of the fourth. Glaser and Smeilus each hit the back of the net late in the fourth while the Aggies scored the final two goals of the game as Ramapo came away with the 16-12 victory.
 
Glaser led the way with four goals while adding one assist, four ground balls, three caused turnovers and eight draw controls. Leah Whitney, Kassidy Baez and Smeilus each posted three goals in the game while Whitney and Baez each recorded three ground balls. Lauren Travaglini led the way with seven ground balls while she added two goals and seven draw controls. Daniella Indomenico recorded seven saves including her 100th of her career in the first 42:44 of the game. Alyssa Curto posted three saves in the final 17:16 of the game
 
Ramapo returns to action on Friday night on the road as they take on Rowan University in their NJAC opener at 5:00pm.
