Montclair, NJ: The Montclair State University baseball team swept a pair of games against rival Ramapo College today at Yogi Berra Stadium. The Red Hawks move to 16-7 overall and 2-0 to open NJAC play while the Roadrunners drop to 13-6 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
Game One
After the Roadrunners took a 2-0 lead in the fourth the Red Hawks connected on a grand slam in the seventh to take a 5-2 lead.

Jesse Swartout with an RBI single, 2-0. In the seventh, MSU scored one run on an RBI single before Chase Fischer hit a grand slam to take the lead. Bailey recorded a sac fly for Ramapo in the eighth inning to plate Dominic Ciani for the Roadrunner's third run of the game.
James Pazdera started on the mound for the Roadrunners as he struck out two and walked four while surrendering just three hits and two runs in six innings of work.
Nick Danbrowney (3-2) took the loss on the mound as he let up three runs on two hits and two innings of work.
Game Two
The Roadrunners got on the board in the top of the first inning when
Zach Novakowski doubled and then scored on an RBI single from Bailey. With two outs in the bottom of the first and runners at the corners for the Red Hawks, B Tiger then singled home MSU's first run of the game for a 1-1 tie. In the bottom of the third, the Red Hawks scored the go ahead run on an infield throwing error by the Roadrunners for a 2-1 lead. In the top of the fifth with two outs, Bailey was hit by a pitch before
Jesse Swartout laced a triple to center field to tie the game at two. MSU took the lead in the bottom of the eighth aided by two Ramapo errors in the inning for a 4-2 lead.
Jack Martin went seven complete innings for the Roadrunners with five strikeouts and just one walk. He scattered nine hits while letting up four runs (two earned).
Ryan Lasko (1-1) took the loss in relief.
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday when they host Manhattanville in a non-conference game at 3:30pm.
