Davenport, FL:  The Ramapo College baseball team defeated the University of Stevens Point today, 15-3 in seven innings. The Roadrunners improve to 8-4 overall while the Pointers now stand at 3-5 overall.
 
Ramapo scored three runs in the first, five in the second and five in the third following two runs from the Pointers for a 13-2 lead. The Roadrunners added two in the fourth while Stevens Point added one in the top of the seventh.
 
In the first inning, 
Jesse Swartout drove in the team's first run with an RBI single before John Higgings plated two with a single to center field, 3-0. Dominic Ciani drove in one nd Zach Bailey drove in two RBI to extend the lead, 6-0. Higgins plated Bailey with a sac fly before 
Brandon Tauber drove in 
Zach Novakowski with a hard hit single up the middle, 8-0. Stevens Point added two in the top of the third before Ramapo added five runs in the third highlighted by a two RBI single from Swartout. In the fourth, 
Matt Lalomia connected on a two-run home run which plated Novakowski for a 15-2 lead. The Pointers got one back in the top of the seventh with a solo home run.
 
Ramapo pounded out 15 hits in the game as Ciani finished 3-4 with three runs scored and one RBI. Tallent, Swartout, and Lalomia all tallied two hits while Swartout, Lalomia each posted three RBI. Higgins led the way with four RBI in the game. 
Jack Martin (3-0) struck out seven, walked two and scattered five hits in six innings of work. 
Hunter Sabbers worked the seventh with one strikeout and one walk.
 
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow morning when they take on DePauw University for a double header beginning at 9:00am.
